About us

What matters in logistics, by logistics people

Lashed & Secured is a free, practical resource for people who move things for a living. It covers total logistics: air, road and sea, plus project and heavy lift.

Who we are

We're logistics people. We've spent years on project cargo, heavy lifts and out-of-gauge moves for oil and gas, energy and industrial jobs: planning flat racks at the quayside, checking crane charts, chasing air waybills, lashing transformers and explaining surcharges to customers who just want to know why the price changed.

Most of what you learn doing that job isn't written down anywhere useful. It sits in people's heads, old emails and expensive software. We started Lashed & Secured to put it somewhere everyone can use it.

What you'll find here

Our promise

Everything here is general information. Always confirm the figures for your job with your carrier, port, surveyor or lifting engineer.

Who writes it

Guides and news are written and checked by the Lashed & Secured editorial team, drawing on hands-on experience in project cargo, heavy lift and freight operations. Each guide lists its sources and when it was last updated.

Corrections policy

We aim to be accurate and to correct mistakes quickly. If you spot an error, email hello@lashedandsecured.com with the page and what you think is wrong. We check the point against primary sources, such as regulators, carriers and official tariffs, and if we were wrong we fix the page and change its "Updated" date. Where a correction changes a figure or a conclusion, we add a short note to the page saying what changed and when.

Affiliate links and advertising

Some pages contain affiliate links, marked (Ad), and the site may carry advertising and newsletter sponsorship. Pages with affiliate links say so at the top. Commercial relationships do not decide what we cover or recommend.
