How it's worked out

  • Volume per piece: L × W × H (cm) ÷ 1,000,000 = m³. For inches: L × W × H (in) × 0.000016387 = m³. Multiply by quantity and add up the rows.
  • Cubic feet: m³ × 35.3147.
  • Gross weight: weight each × qty, added up. 1 lb = 0.45359 kg.
  • Air: volumetric kg = total cm³ ÷ 6,000. Chargeable = the greater of gross and volumetric. Airlines usually round up to the next 0.5 kg, so the tool shows that rounded figure too.
  • Courier: total cm³ ÷ 5,000. Some express networks use other divisors, so check yours.
  • Sea LCL: revenue tonnes (RT) = the greater of m³ and gross tonnes (1 m³ = 1 t). Most LCL tariffs have a minimum of 1 RT, so the tool flags when your shipment is below it.
  • Road: volumetric kg = m³ × 333 (the common European groupage ratio). Some hauliers use loading metres instead.

Divisors vary by carrier and contract, so always check the one in your terms. This tool doesn't give prices.
